In April 2022, I began leading the Secureworks web team with the primary goal of defining, planning, and executing our Web Modernization Program — including redesigning the website and upgrading the backend technology in an accelerated timeline. I began by restructuring the existing web team to introduce a UI/UX practice, recruiting the right talent to fill skills gaps to ensure long-term governance of the brand, architecture, and user experience. Our team meticulously created a web atomic design system that reflected and reinforced the Secureworks brand. Within just 7 months, we successfully launched a dramatically improved website design with a new intuitive information architecture, customer-centric approach in our content delivery, mobile optimization, and focused user experience. We completed the full technology upgrade 9 months later — fixing reliability issues, increasing performance by 4X, and automating the ability to launch and support global websites.
